What data we collect
When you message us on WhatsApp or email to enquire or book, we process: your name, phone number, travel dates, passenger count, hotel or pickup location, nationality (for park-fee type), and any dietary or access needs you volunteer. On the website we may process technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) and analytics events via tools such as Microsoft Clarity and, when configured by the operator, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads tags. Payment is arranged directly in WhatsApp (cash or bank transfer as agreed); we do not store full card numbers on this website.
Why we use it
We use contact and booking details to reply to enquiries, confirm availability, coordinate pickup, issue trip instructions, and provide customer service. We use analytics to understand how the site is used (which pages convert, where visitors drop off) and, when ads are active, to measure campaign performance. Legal bases under Indonesian UU PDP and common practice: contract performance / pre-contract steps for bookings, and legitimate interest / consent for analytics cookies where required.
Cookies and analytics
This site may set cookies or similar technologies for: essential site function; Microsoft Clarity session replay/heatmap (tag currently present); Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tags when measurement IDs are configured by the operator (placeholders until launch). Sharing
We share trip-relevant details with our licensed captains and crew only as needed for the day of departure. Parent brand Komodo Explorer Indonesia may process the same booking thread when the same WhatsApp number is used. We do not sell or rent personal data. Processors (hosting, analytics, messaging infrastructure) act under our instructions or their published terms.
Retention
WhatsApp and email booking threads are kept as long as needed for the trip, accounting, and dispute resolution (typically up to several years for business records). Analytics aggregates are retained per the tool vendor defaults. You may request deletion of personal data that is no longer required for legal or contractual reasons.
Your rights

Children
Our open trips accept families; booking is handled by an adult. We do not knowingly market to children under 13 or collect their data independently of a parent/guardian booking.
